We’re excited to announce a 2025 call for candidates to be considered for Feedback Labs’ Board of Directors. Feedback Labs already has a world-class board and an ongoing internal board recruitment process, but it aspires to live its values by ensuring its board is open to the most qualified people in the world, regardless of whether they are already in our networks. To this end, Feedback Labs is looking to recruit two (2) new board members to begin their term of service in mid-2025!
About Feedback Labs and our Board of Directors
Feedback Labs is a field-building organization that supports philanthropy, nonprofits, and other social sector organizations to regularly listen and act on feedback in high-quality, equitable, and inclusive ways. We make the case that listening and acting on feedback from constituents is the right thing to do morally and ethically, the smart thing to do to achieve better outcomes, and the feasible thing to do at scale. We do this work with the belief that making people’s voices central to the decision-making process will revolutionize social impact and that the new norms that cement good feedback practice will help contribute to a more equitable world. We achieve this by encouraging incentives for funders and nonprofits, creating and curating tools and training, and building community through events and communication to make it easier for people to listen and act on feedback from those at the heart of their work.
We believe in a more equitable and inclusive world, where people can determine the programs and policies that affect their lives, grounded in evidence, free from systemic barriers, discrimination, and exclusion, and where resources are directed to where they are most needed, as defined by people and communities themselves. We recently updated our mission and vision and developed a new three-year strategic plan. We’re looking for two additional Board members to join us as we continue to support the feedback field.
Currently, our Board of Directors is made up of seven individuals with experience in domestic and international nonprofits, philanthropy, and official aid agencies. For many past and current board members, serving on the board is a way to invest in the feedback field and advocate for the critical role of constituents’ voices in social impact work. It’s also an invaluable opportunity for personal and professional development. Join a great team of talented nonprofit and philanthropy professionals who, together with Feedback Labs’ CEO and staff, shape the strategic direction of the organization and oversee the organization’s financial sustainability and growth.
Apply to be a Board Member by February 19, 2025!

What’s expected of Feedback Labs Board members?
Feedback Labs’ board members are the fiduciary guardians of the 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and take on an active role in one or more of our board committees: (1) Finance, Audit, and Compensation Committee, (2) Governance Committee.

This includes attending virtual quarterly Board of Directors meetings, occasional committee meetings, follow-up tasks related to those committee functions, participating in our annual Feedback Summit (the next one scheduled June 4-6, 2025), and responding to email requests from Feedback Labs staff, such as a review of title and salary changes, CEO expenses, etc.

Commitment to Diversity
We understand there are numerous reasons why someone would read a professional opportunity and, despite “checking off most of the boxes,” decide not to apply. Research supports that self-selecting out of potential professional opportunity is particularly common among individuals with minoritized identities or identities that are marginalized in professional spaces such as BIPOC individuals, LGBTIQ+ individuals, persons with a disability, neurodivergent individuals, and individuals with a history of institutionalization (e.g. incarceration, immigration detainment, inpatient treatment, or chronic hospitalization). If you question whether or not you would be a “good fit” for Feedback Labs, please feel free to reach out to Britt Lake, Feedback Labs’ CEO, at [email protected] or Bryan Simmons, Board Chair at [email protected]. Feedback Labs intentionally creates environments that value “culture add” over “culture fit.” We invite you to share how your unique identities, background, and experiences could add to our Board.
