For the last four years, Sarah Hennessy has been a driving force at Feedback Labs. She was the first full-time staff (starting in February 2014), and has played a major role in our growth, products, and impact.

As Chief of Staff, Sarah has presided over more than a hundred convenings of the nascent feedback community – including three Summits, dozens of LabStorms, and about seventy business meetings.

When she started, our entire network was less than ten organizations; since then, over 400 organizations in the US and worldwide have collaborated or participated substantively in our common work. More recently, as Product Manager, she has pioneered new revenue-generating Feedback Labs products such as the “SprintRelay” and has managed collaborative initiatives such as the Practical Adaptation Network.

Sarah now plans to head back to graduate school to equip herself with the tools to take her work to the next level. As she sorts through her school options, she plans to spend more time on the “front lines” with feedback-oriented organizations that deliver services directly with clients and users. To this end, she is winding down her work with us by spending half-time on an “externship” with the Rapid Results Institute on a project in New Mexico, with similar work to follow.

Sarah’s last day with Feedback Labs will be March 31, 2018. On the one hand, it is hard to know how we will survive without her. On the other hand, she has helped build a strong team at the Labs, including our Operations and Finance Manager, Meg VanDeusen, and Megan Campbell, our Sr. Manager of Research and Learning. As we all know, building a strong team may be the most important legacy anyone can leave.

Feedback Labs could not have done it without Sarah, and I am immensely appreciative of her leadership, dedication, and hard work these past four years.

Although I suspect she will remain involved with the feedback community over the coming time, please join me in saying thanks and wishing her well as she formally embarks on the next stage of her journey.

Sarah your absence is already felt and you are already tremendously missed here at the Open Gov Hub! Please don’t be a stranger, best of luck with your next chapter, and I’m sure we’ll cross paths again soon! 🙂
