What an incredible first day of the Feedback Summit! Thanks to our outstanding speakers and attendees for grappling with how to speak truth to power and re-imagine constituent voice. Tomorrow, help us think about what it is we need: an evolution or a revolution.

The day opened with Feedback Labs CEO, Dennis Whittle, challenging us to get outside our comfort zones to make this event a true success.

Then we heard from Mimi Ito on the follies of best laid plans! Learning from your customer’s behavior is a critical part of careful listening.

Warmed up and primed for good conversation, we heard from 6 fantastic panels, discussing everything from how bureaucrats respond to feedback, to figuring out what to do with data, to getting beyond feedback.

The morning sessions were filled with questions about the role that donors play in shifting the power, and at lunch we got to hear what funders within the feedback community are doing to catalyze the closing of feedback loops.

The afternoon was jam-packed with incredible sessions, asking where do we direct (or shift) our focus to create change?

Then we had to wrap up the day, but what a way to end!

Luckily, today was only the beginning. We have great questions to wrestle with, and we look forward to diving deeper tomorrow.

Finally, we wouldn’t be Feedback Labs if we didn’t walk the feedback talk. We heard your ideas and suggestions from last year and responded to them in this year’s Summit. Let us know how we’re doing and please, keep the feedback coming!

We’ve been listening today too, so thanks for engaging in great feedback conversations.

We can’t wait to see you tomorrow!
